Actually, the Chinese see an opportunity.
Hollywood is embracing a new progressive socialist SWJ narrative that is unpopular to the bulk of America. They are remaking Die Hard with an all-female version and rewriting history to fit the progressive narrative(s).
Meanwhile, the Chinese are engaged in movies in both English and Chinese, using both English and Chinese actors. They take place in futuristic settings with decent CGI and follow the age-old adventure story line. They do not use any of the SJW narrative, and instead have traditional families (even if dysfunctional) and good hard-working leadership roles. Roles that people would like to emulate.

China’s making a lot of war movies now. The kind of stuff we used to do. Chinese troops in Indochina and Somalia. Scary.
The Chinese couldn’t find an original idea if they tried.
“Wandering Earth” is a story that was already told with “Space 1999”.
