Thirty five posts of much ignorance and anti southern bigotry from the usual victim class posters here before someone speaks who actually understands how things are today

God bless you and well done

It’s funny I know Freepers hate facts when they are on a roll but did anyone actually read any of what all actually happened or what it was what about?

The ignorance of Freepers who love to shoot their mouths off here is alarming

Three little facts

100 rally attendees ....led by two Confedrrate memorial preservation groups

50 counter rally attendees...organized by left wing academia from campus led by Kate Gluckman...a know social justice warrior radical whose from out of state

Eight players kneeled...less than half and they are already backpedaling a bit this being Mississippi

The rally was organized to counter a movie by a Bernie SJW group on campus..again Ms Gluckman an outsiders doing ....which is petitioning to remove any memorials on campus to the confederate dead which is pertinent given manynwho died locally had been school attendees and during the war it at times served as a hospital for both sides and many of those buildings still stand

Context is a beautiful thing

I admit while I belong to the SCV and Franklin battlefield heritage group I’m unfamiliar with the two groups that marched in Oxford....pitifully they seemed insignificant....the old group under the black man Harvey who was killed mysteriously a few years ago between rallies and who was a fixture in Oxford had bigger rallies....he was an impressive man...i met him once and he enthralled my son with all his local Oxford history lore

There were blacks in support of the southern side in Oxford today...not a fact the media likes much

The leftist counter marches were mostly white kids...look like SJWs anywhere...

The destruction and removal of the monuments to honor the men that fought for their states during the war is a travesty. These men fought for their STATE, not the central government. It is up to the states to honor their memory for eternity. My GGGF was captured in Oxford Square as a member of Forrest's rear guard in August of 1864 after the raid upon Memphis. The left’s destruction of Southern History is in keeping with the plan to destroy the US; once the cohesiveness of the South is damaged, the US will fall. Southerners not only honor our US heritage, we honor our Southern uniqueness and heritage and the men that gave their last for the State.

The irony within my heritage is that of the six men that fought the war, five Confederates were not slave owners and the one Union ancestor was a slave owner. That flies in the face of the mantra given by the Southern haters.

Sorry to see some folks trying to stir up animosity at Ole Miss. It is obviously counter-productive when you have people of different heritages seeking to police thought among each other--which is a very insulting concept--while also seeking to claim the "high ground."

Again, I recommend Booker T. Washington Address, as a demonstration of the mutual benefits of good will among self-respecting peoples. Contrast the mutually beneficial progress in racial good will between 1895 & 1930, with what has been happening in the age of Grievances & Grievance Mongers.
