For the life of me I’ve never heard the Democrats referred to as the Democratic party until lately. I’ve always heard it as the Democrat party. Is the party democratic as to how they conduct their voting internally or is it the Democrat party referring to who they are. Doesn’t make grammatical sense to me. But then ......
Back in the 60s in Michigan there was a stupid radio jingle commercial at election time:
Oh the Democratic Party
Is the very best one for you
It fights for all the people
And not for just a few.
The rich man and the poor man
Big man and the small
Oh the Democratic Party
Is the very best one for all.
A true dedicated Rat will use the full form.
More educated Rats long ago used to correct me on that, so I’ve known as a child.
Later, I learned that they considered it a derogatory term, and I’ve been more satisfied with calling them that, or Rats, as they deserve, for almost all of them since 2008 being our vilest domestic enemies.
