I don’t have a problem with this - dissecting animals in HS is mostly a waste of time - very, very few of those kids will ever go into a science where that will be required, and raising 100’s of thousands if not millions of animals just so they can be dissected by kids who will never actually need to know about it seems cruel and unnecessary.
Go off to college and start studying advanced biology, medicine, veterinary school etc? Then it can be justified.
I actually think making HS kids dissect animals at a young age may actually deter them from entering some of those fields.
Just think of them as post-mortem abortions, and all will be okay.
Really too bad that this tyrant wasn’t ‘rejected biological tissue’.
I remember an incident from high school algebra. We had a particularly incompetent teacher. I solved a word problem using a method that we had not yet covered in class, dont remember the details.
Even though I got the right answer, the teacher marked it wrong because I used a method I shouldnt have known about since we hadnt covered it in class.
