I would support redesigning the electrical grid as largely-isolated miniature thorium reactors with controlled share points. It's an idea long over due.

Last year I had diner with a current reactor engineering student.

I asked him about the possibility of thorium reactors.

He said that they had not even touched on them in his course of study.

Unfortunately, they are not likely to be built if engineers are not even briefed on them.
