Meant to add the .38 Super is old school chic, and I love old school.
I’m currently carrying two handguns for my EDC. The Sig P365 in an ankle rig w a spare 12 round mag and a Glock 19 in a “IWB Sticky holster” with a spare Glock 19 and a Surefire E2DL flashlight IWB carrier. Both my carry guns have at least 2000 rounds practice 115 gr Winchester Whitebox and about 500 rounds each of Speer 147 gr Gold Dot Hollow Point. Speer 147 grain Gold Dot Hollow Point is my carry ammo ....
They both are reliable, comfortable, easy to carry and very concealable..... I recommend such .
I feel the warm and fuzzy they wrap around a good level of awareness when out and about is adequate for my redneck grayman daily regime. Albeit I have a truck gun under the back seat of my truck in 6.5CM , Sako A7 Roughtech with a Nightforce ATACR 5-25X for Coyotes trying to convert black angus calf’s into dinner..... fun fun !
Very nice 1911A1 in 38 Super ! I have a nickel plated on in the safe . Ron ain’t in prison yet ??
This is good advice.
Smith Alexander who made mag well guides with mainspring housings used to have a Westinghouse “white”material used for 1911A1 Grips. I would use a recipe of a few crystals of potassium permanganate (size of grains of salt) in a ice tea glass of warm tap water. The water was stired till faint purple / pinkish color. Drop that white grip in for a few seconds and pull it out and gauge the results of the dye process that looks like aged ivory. Very good process. Keep track of the total time the grip was dunked into the solution and the other will match perfectly. Mine are about 35 years old and hold that yellowed aged ivory look perfectly on my El Presidente 38 Super and on another 1911A I carried back when .......
Sadly I can’t find the “white” grips on Smith Alexanders web site...... here is the link if ya want to call and ask. Well worth the try !

That El Presidente 38 Super is a pretty rare bird. Nice.
I’m saving my change for REAL deep engraving my Seecamp .32 got back in late 70’s / early 80’s (I forget when). Don’t like this laser etching passed for engraving crap ....... Have an old series 70 1911A1 stainless, engraved by an old dead guy from Lubbock TX. Another old dead guy engraved my really old Rolex Submariner is the same style so looking for a good engraver to do the last of my trifecta of old man jewelry. Old ugly guys have to use bait to lure in the pretty gals ........
Mossberg - yes, Mossberg - has introduced a new 9mm subcompact. It is the MC1sc and is 6+1. I haven’t seen one but it is getting rave reviews. Tough entry in a crowded arena. Interesting.
Gotta have bling, amigo. And not gaudy necklaces. {:0)
Yeah Buddy ..... despise necklaces . Worked pretty much every job where ID / Badge HAD to be worn .
These days my watch, calendar, note pad, camera, gps, compass, phonebook, map, music, family pictures, appointments, alarm clock, flashlight, magnifying glass, mailbox, and apple pay is on my small iPhone 5se, it fits in the ruler pocket of my wrangler carpenter jeans perfectly. If states allowed licenses to go digital I’d not even need my wallet .
Gun, spare mag, iPhone, money clip, 3 blade stockman, and truck key. Perfect old guy load out EDC.
Need less crap to carry ......
