Many Americans do want the socialist agenda. They don’t understand that socialism is not self-sustaining. They just don’t know they are choosing the Venezuela option.
Of course, there is no chaser what happened after Sanders admit 'your taxes will go up (to pay for it)' how many of those cheered in the audience want to pay >70% of their income for the socialist dream.
You are right. But I wouldn’t say Americans want “Socialism.” They want transfer payments so that they can live the good life and have the “rich” pay for it. They believe that they can have free health care and free housing and Obamaphones and a whole bunch of other benefits if the “rich” would just pay their “fair share.” They don’t understand that the Dems’ agenda is simply a means to control. Give the Middle Class all kinds of benefits but tax the life out of them to provide them. Then the Middle Class become serfs — wards of the state who give their money to the state in exchange for being “taken care of.” With, of course, the Dems in control. Its evil and totalitarian but a lot of people are willing to live in a state of serfdom to have the illusion of safety.
This is why no one knows anything about the collapse of Venezuela because if they did they would see the end result of what they are longing for here. But then again they cant handle truth there to emotional
