Under Identity Politics, you need to find the "right sort" of person to nominate in order to get blacks to vote for you.

Under normal politics, you need good ideas, which benefit people, to get those people to vote for you.

I understand that the Dems want blacks to come out and vote.

The big questions:
Will Identity Politics continue to work, or is Trump showing people the value of good ideas?
Will the Dems try to have good ideas (they haven't tried this in decades) or will the Dems continue to see America as a mere tribal society?
Has tribalism run its course for most people, or is it effective in the Age of Trump?
