I’ve seen similar incidents myself;
A black person, dressed all in black, at midnight, walking in the street, not on the side walk. Usually jaywalking, and at the midnight hour.
I don’t know if this is what happened, but I’ve dodged more than one person like that with my car, back when I had more of a nightlife.
Of course, I don’t dare trumpet blast my car horn the way I want to do. Many such careless people are looking for a reason to vent some anger at anybody and about anything at all.
One of the best defensive-oriented boxers I’ve ever seen. He could slip and counter-punch your lights out from a variety of angles. He made a lot of boxers look silly in his day.

One reason for that was he got down low and kept his head way out front. That may seem risky, but his reflexes were so sharp he could see and slip anything coming. RIP Sweet Pea, you were a champ for the ages.
He wasn’t the type of boxer that brawled and took a lot of punishment. May have been the best pure boxer of his time.

Cartoon character Popeye the Sailor Man (toot-toot!)had a nephew named Sweet Pea.
Sweet Pea was aways depicted as a todder in a onesie, maybe crawling around while holding his baby bottle. He never grew up.
I think at least once, Sweet Pea may have hit somebody with that bottle, holding the bottle by the nipple and swinging it.Using it like a Bolo.
That would be “Sweet Pea”, Not “Sweat Pea”.
As a youngster, Whitaker was known to friends and family as “Pete” and when he began to emerge as a top amateur, fans in his hometown of Norfolk used to serenade him with chants of “Sweet Pete.” This was misinterpreted by a local sportswriter as “Sweet Pea.” When this erroneous report came out in the local newspaper, the new nickname stuck
