“Does anyone watch Network Evening News anymore?”

Unfortunately, a lot of easily swayed people watch.

Does anyone watch Network Evening News anymore?

I do, but I’m a geezer. Last night was pretty spectacular. First of all, the nature of the President’s tweets as racist was a given—no debate, no question about it. Besides saying ‘racist’ many times, the text below the reporting read either “Trump defends racist tweets” or Congresswomen react to racist tweets.” And when you thought the story was over, she brought in a reporter ‘who has covered Trump since he announced his candidacy’ who thoughtfully reviewed all of the statements the President has made that the media have declared ‘racist’.

The thing is, my wife, who used to be pretty liberal, has in the last two years come to the conclusion that the networks and cable news are lying to us and have been for some time. It’s gotten to where she can’t stand to watch them anymore.

Maybe I’m optimistic but I think more are coming round to this awareness.

Last night’s broadcast reminded me of ‘ISN’, Interstellar Network News, on Babylon 5. News readers telling you ‘facts’ that are close to 180º from what you know to be the truth.

Ironic. Was just reading an article the other day about how the President of CBS News wants to have news “without a viewpoint”. I didn’t believe it for a second.
