Maybe the good Rabbi should tell his congregants that this is what Leftists do - with the first bunch of Leftists being the Nazis. Tell them to act according to American values, which are generally consistent with Jewish values, and to vote for those espousing such beliefs (and not Dems).
But I don’t expect that, as most of my co-religionists (so don’t flame me, bro) are as dumb as a bag of hammers when it comes to politics and matters of self-preservation. This extends to do-gooder Rabbis (and, no, I don’t know where this particular Rabbi stands on political matters - I was generalizing).
I’m pretty sure that orthodox Jews are more conservative than the Jewish mainstream.
