it was common back then. that one pic they painted the eyes on.
I have family pics of dead people in their coffin that were done by a professional. Not that long ago..maybe in the 60s

During the 19th century it wasn’t just children that were posed after death, adults were also. There are several websites out there on this. Yes it is creepy but that is the way they did things.
