Makes me glad that my 17YO son is fixated on Madden. I see it as training for his career as a coach. When we're talking football, he really gets into detail on offensive and defensive schemes...I have no idea what he's talking about half the time.

It's ok, he's a senior doing double duty on football and band this year, while getting the best grades he's had since middle school (before he morphed into a "terrible teen", and all that implies).

I don't attribute this positive change to my skills as a dad, I give credit to the football coach who holds all of his players to high standards. Sometimes, a kid needs to hear a message from someone other his/her parents for it to take hold.
