It would be interesting to know the stats on suicides before & after Prozac (& like ‘boys’ drugs), before and after ‘its etc were allowed to openly serve or serve openly’, before and after females in COMBAT (basically resulting in the lowering of standards for ALL).

Then take the suicides ‘after’ the above and see what percentage fall into those categories.

This f’n government can waste billions ‘chasing rainbows’ yet don’t have enough time or money to care for those that NEED it and are suffering at the behest of the Government.

I don't have statistics on the blood work on suicide victims, and indeed not everyone wants/gets an autopsy.

However, we have ample data on suicide and veteran suicides.

Please, what follows is not intended to be cold, callous, demeaning, or insouciant with regard to suicide or veterans.

In 2016, there were 5,756 male vet suicides, of which 70.6% were by firearms; there were 18.3MM male vets in total. Those values for female vets were 254, 41.2%, and 1.8MM, respectively.

Among non-vets, there were 27,928 male suicides, of which 53.9% were by firearms; there were 102.2MM nonvet males in the US. Those values for female non-vets were 9,489, 32.4%, and 126.1MM, respectively.

If we were able to get the male vet suicide by firearm rate to mirror that of male non-vets, we'd see 962 fewer male vet suicides; that number for women is 22, for a grand total is 984 fewer deaths.

Now, obviously, suicide is a tragedy and perhaps especially so with vets. But if we want to save 984 vets from firearm suicides, do we really think Red Flag laws are the best way to do it? Maybe if we had some decent psychiatric care?

It s also worth noting that along female non-vets, a greater percentage of suicides (34.2%) come from poisoning vs firearms. Soooo...where is the push to limit females' access to poison? Maybe we need laws to let the police come into females' homes to confiscate medicines, detergent, bleach, and the like?

Or, maybe, just perhaps....Red Flad laws aren't about saving lives at all...
