This is common to most adults as we age.
People learn to differentiate between acquaintances, friends, and close friends. I seems to me that the more successful someone is, the fewer _real_ friends they have.
Kids have loads of friends, most of them virtual, these days. By middle age, people learn the difference between friends and close friends. In old age, people begin to disengage, which includes jettisoning those acquaintances they once called friends, concentrating on the very few who stood the test of time.
How does that go? “A friend is someone to whom you can admit a murder. A close friend will help you bury the body.” (something like that)
The maybe a new voting block, "FELONS FOR TRUMP - 2020".
Ya gotta remember, he got a bunch of them out --- early.
He should sell his Trump tower apt... to Russians.

Also, I can tell you from personal experience that not every convict here is a Democrat.
I know at least one, who can still vote, went to jail over family squabbles with ex-wife and such, and he is a Trump nut, ‘Merica, all that good stuff!
Don’t believe the Felons voting Dem. I believe about 40% are registering Republican. My friend owns a rooming house and some of the felons staying there are going NPA and R. Two of the felons who stay there - and work there (1 is the cleaning staff, the other is the ground crew) - listens to Rush.

The NY Post was the only remotely "centrist" newspaper in a city overwhelmingly saturated with vile, corrupt commie attitude. The infrastructure is old and worn and not being replaced. Illegal criminal invaders have precedence over citizens, whose main role is to act as ATM machines for them. The stench of corruption at all levels, in all sectors of life could cause you to keel over choking. If a city council member would have shaken my hand, I would have immediately washed it with disinfecting soap. The head of the schools system is a despicable commie ass whose priority is to use the captive audience of students as subjects for commie indoctrination, eschewing biology, math, and history in favor of "diversity" and "equality". He has decided that no matter what the neighborhood, all classrooms must reflect the identical percentage of whites/blacks/Hispanics/Asians and THAT is more important than ensuring that the kids don't leave the school system illiterate, math ignorant and incapable of critical thinking as they do now.
The NY Post is the only NY paper which even began to report on this, the truth. If DumblASSio and Cuomo had been doing anything positive, anything at all, it would have been reported.
This abysmal condition of the city, resulting in an absolutely wretched quality of life, is why I have MOVED out of the city. Yes, 5 days ago I got OUT and will not return.

The commie head of nyc schools came from the Houston schools in a state freepers are always bragging about. He is the worst one yet.
All of us on this planet only have at most a few close friends. If we think we have more than that we will find out different when we hit a rough patch in life and need a true friend.
The NY Post has been dead to me since they went anti-gun.
