But VP candidate John Edwards, who ran with Kerry in 2004 also fit the bill. His wife had Stage 4 breast cancer, and he had an affair with a campaign staffer (or was it a photographer), lied about it for a while, and eventually admitted it after the election. He was a famous dirtbag. As I said, nicknamed the “Silky Pony” for his longish, carefully coiffed hair.
