Horowitz Goes Full Comey
americanthinker.com ^ | December 11, 2019 | Daniel John Sobieski

Like disgraced former FBI director James Comey before him exonerating Hillary Clinton for her crimes, DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz presents us with a documented list of crimes, fraud, and deception in the FISA warrant application process by the FBI but then says never mind — these are bureaucratic mistakes made without bias and without intent. There still was sufficient predicate, says he, for starting an investigation and surveillance of Team Trump, even as Horowitz admits that the first FISA warrant, the one authorizing surveilling Carter Page, was riddled with errors and omissions of key exculpatory evidence. It was the first of four frauds committed on the FISA court, a felony. We have confirmation that the first FISA application, at least, was based almost solely on what Comey himself called the "unverified and salacious" Steele dossier, paid for by the Clinton campaign and the DNC. Yet the FBI "forgot" to ask or inform the court who paid for it. Former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe has stated that without the Steele dossier, there would have been no FISA warrants at all and no investigation of Team Trump. Ironically, this was confirmed by the I.G. Report: The much awaited Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) report, conducted by Inspector General Michael Horowitz, was released today. It finds that the FBI would not have had enough claimed evidence to secretly surveil former Trump aide Carter Page, and thus the Trump 2016 campaign, without using a "dossier" of opposition research funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign. In 2016, after Page left the Trump campaign, the FBI asked the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) for a warrant to secretly surveil Page.

I liked this country a lot better before Bill Clinton elevated Word Parsing to a national sport.

Simple question for the Democrat Fascist Party Politicians and their submissive toadies in the Fake News.

Change none of the detailed in this “report” but this. Candidate Obama in place of Candidate Trump.

Stop mindless fanboi behavior for “your team” and think about that hard Democrats.

Really think this sort of criminal corruption in the legal arm of the US Govt is “No big deal” just because it was “your team” that was doing it?

17 mistakes all in favor of one political party against one political opponent does not to a reasonable person equate to mistakes or no political bias....17-0

Graham did a good job laying things out.

Of particular note was that the first FISA application for Page...was turned down. The next three were accepted, the difference being that the Steele Dossier had been added to the last three applications.

More clickbait

Horowitz can’t indict, he does not have that power, he can write a report and include facts of finding and summary of his opinion

Barr is the final decision on what happens next, not Horowitz

Horowitz’s job is done, if you read the report, there is something there and certain people should be nervous. Including Comey

I am less down-hearted than many here.

I think Horowitz was blocked from declaring bias unless he found documents attesting explicitly to bias or unless someone confessed bias to him. Barring those 2 unlikely events, he cannot claim bias.

But reading between the lines of what he did say, it is all unmistakable. AG Barr and Durham are better positioned to make a pronouncement about bias. They are less constrained than Horowitz.

I think the Horowitz report will serve us well.

No bias doesn’t mean that their actions were legal

Bias can only be proven if they actually admit that they did this to get Trump because they didn’t like him.

So what?

The question is were the FISA applications legal? By the looks of it, no, they were not legal

That is what matters

Don’t let the Media pull the wool over your eyes stating that bias is the crime. Everyone has bias, it doesn’t matter. The question is, were there actions legal?

Horowitz is saying no political bias in the inception of the investigation but the application and conduct was “murky” on continued bias.

Horowitz isn’t a prosecutor?

His opinion doesn’t really matter to Barr, Barr looks at the facts and decides to continue on and how to continue and what to accomplish.

The headline is clickbait

I agree bias is a thought crime..but media jumped on no bias when obviously statistically there was bias which was motive for the crimes....

Former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe has stated that without the Steele dossier, there would have been no FISA warrants at all and no investigation of Team Trump.

Probably true, but I think the Dems would have come up with some other false accusation with which to charge Trump. They wanted him out, and still do.

Even today, if impeachment fails, they will find Plan B, C, D to get rid of Trump.
