They ranked Australia as #1.

How quickly they forget that Australia had a rape epidemic and the numbers are still nauseatingly high.

A glaringly obvious oversight like this makes me question their methodology

I have a slightly different take, where America ranking #10 vs #1 is understandable and maybe even preferable. Consider the risk/return tradeoff in investing:

Low-risk assets like cash also yield little return. In contrast, high-yielding assets also carry higher risk.

So, sure, Australia may be #1 - but firearms and concealed-carry are a Dream in Australia. That is the same with most other countries in the top ten.

Thus, the REAL question should be....what are women giving up in countries 1-9 in terms of freedom to defend themselves vs outsourcing it to the state or society?

There were a rash of Muslim rapists in Australia, not sure that is so bad a problem now that the girls have become warier.

Aboriginal men beating and raping Aboriginal women and children in the villages is all too common.
