I am not seeking affirmation or validation of my hypothesis with this post; I merely seek to demonstrate one aspect which is not being discussed ANYWHERE and for which I have convinced a SINGLE PERSON to stow the necessary supplies in their medicine cabinet.
I view that as tragic, but not a failure on my part. I hope my expierience can help someone here at FR.
NOTE:
Propylene Glycol is NOT THE SAME AS Ethylene Glycol.........................
Its interesting how research into the use of propylene glycol as an air sanitizer was very widespread in the 1930s and 40s, and then somehow just stopped after that.
Wonder why folks haven’t tried Grapefruit seed extract? It’s a powerful antiviral, etc entity.
Countdown until some ‘tard drinks a bunch of antifreeze. Yeah, propylene glycol != ethylene glycol, but .. ‘tards.
Someone’s gonna have a nightcap with Uncle Chuck. I guarantee it.

I would like to understand why ibuprofen causes issues.
Your lung pain seems to be in roughly the same spot the broken glass effect appears on serious Wuhan cases.
The research you quote is really good. I recall some similar research in the past year and told my wife that we might be getting a vaping setup with propylene glycol to help at home with future flues.
Really good writeup! This is solid, first-hand experience.
Thanks for the info.
Would you feel free to hypothesize/detail a mechanism by which the lung disinfection in effected?
Pardon my ignorance. Maybe I have too many ideas about RTI’s.
So glad you are better!

I do NOT go into details on the ingredients of vaping juice beyond my citations.
Any moron with bipedal mobility (or assisted) and electrical activity between the ears - coupled with motor skills which include speech - can acquire a safe product which does NOT contain ethylene glycol at any vaping retail store.
There are juices which contain 80/20 & 70/30 blends of Glycerin/Propylene Glycol; the one I borrowed from my wife - as well as the one I purchased later - was of the 80/20 blend and proved highly-effective in the regimen I outline in the post.
IOW I can imagine the disinfectant effect on virions suspended in air, but how on an infection that has taken hold?
Bookmarking this.
This might be what I was remembering:
Vaping may lead to fewer respiratory infections for ex-smokers:

The first thing I thought about was the Navy sub and aircraft carrier with COVID19 aboard.
Hopefully this will reach the Navy in time to secure our Navy assets.
Hmmmm. Vaping?Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
The false positive rate was 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's or one old farts life, it's worth it.
I’ve been vaping to cut down on smoking. Originally I was going to swap to vaping and then slowly cut down on the strength of the vape juice until null and then quit but then all that stuff came out about Juul killing kids. Of course come to find out, they were refilling the disposable pods with who knows what. I might have to go back to my original plan starting now. I don’t do the candy or bubble gum flavored stuff. I have no idea what they use to make the tobacco flavored stuff I use. Bottle just has the standard Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, Nicotine plus “Natural & Artificial Flavors”.(trade secret like food) At one point I was down from 1 1/2 packs of smokes a day to half a pack and breathing was noticeably better.
thx
and no, we don’t wan to know about your bowel issues. LOL
oh, and I alone assume responsibility for anything I do.
Thank you!
Did you see this?
Ignore the first part about vapers being at greater risk, and see the last part. It looks like there is no answer to my poorly worded question.
I read the abstract and the abstracts for the footnoted articles. Full text pdf was one page(?) It is very clear they are referring to direct contact of PG with aerosolized bacteria (virions too).
Here is what I wanted you to see.

BOOKbump
One of the side effects of vitamin C overdose is diarhea.
I too saw the 1942 and also tried to find studies involving human inhalation as a treatment for flu. And couldn't find anything.
The idea of inhaling a subtance with no or very low toxicity to directly combat the virus in the lungs seems like a very plausible strategy.
It's disappointing that the medical community has not followed up on what looks like a very promising and low cost treatment for the flu. If we could save most of the lives lost to flu and/or coronavirus, that would be great.
PG is used for theater fog and haunted house fog. Where it's been breathed in by many with no obvious harmful effects.
For myself I bought a couple of bottles of haunted house fog juice which is PG and water. And a fog machine. I haven't bought a vaping pen yet, but that would be more convenient than using the fog machine and fogging a whole room or setting up a vapor tent.
