I haven’t made it through all the way yet, but DUDE, Washington Irving wrote a helluva good biography of Washington! LIFE OF GEORGE WASHINGTON. http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/7002
What a manly man Washington was. 99.99% of modern day people could make it through what George Washington went through.
He was a visionary and quite dedicated to preserving the country for posterity.
The patriots who won the war wanted to make him king, but he declined telling everyone the people had just thrown off the monarchy but he would become the first President but not for life.
His farewell message to the Country upon his retirement is one for the ages: https://www.ushistory.org/documents/farewelladdress.htm
