Then why can’t you say that Victor Davis Hanson is “probably” right instead of categorically saying that he’s wrong?
That is because I am more sanguine about politics than I am about culture. VDH is making a cultural argument, and we (Christians and people adhering to classical values) have been losing the cultural battle for 200 years.
