It may be Joementia's team playing the lowered expectations game. This works if Joe is in fact able to get thru 90 minutes, passably. Then, Joe's team *helps* with the lowered expectations, anticipation of wearing hearing "aids", diapers and being drugged. Then, the debate goes thru without obvious "aids", bathroom breaks, and the like.

The setup: if joe doesn't drool excessively, he wins.

Understood. This tactic has worked in the past. (Hillary's pre-debate drug tests in 2016 would have been very interesting to see)
