There are plenty of folks who have issues with the characters on this site, but to me that’s what makes FR what it is. In days of old we had Willie Green, conservative on everything except trains. He gave as good as he got, but was convinced that there was no better nor more important idea than high-speed rail between Atlanta and Chattanooga, or between Madison and Milwaukee. Eventually he just left. We still have characters like Lazmataz (sp?) who claims to desire relations with any female, anywhere. It is a schtick. Sometimes amusing, often gross, but there it is.
Besides the characters, we have non-political posts about the NFL, archaeological digs, cats (this is the Internet, after all), or the Freeper Canteen, which usually focuses on tabloid style personality quizzes and music lists. Posted primarily for the benefit of our armed forces personnel around the world to keep in touch with remembrances of home, but all are welcome to participate.
Wow! Something for everyone! I haven’t explored too much yet. My husband served, stateside, around the time Bush was getting using into the Gulf War. He has all the symptoms of GWI and they are weird, let me tell you. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.
