it seems during the four house “pause” it would not have been hard to “update” the machine software for counting.

You could update after the fact to delete the update or write it to self delete so the random test would pass.

remember after the voting was done. the voting machines apparently were largely unsecured.

Very true but this is why I have said backup voting machines should be seized. These machines were likely loaded with the same software as know one could predict when they might be needed yet they were likely overlooked by the fraudsters. The evidence is very likely to be found on any unused voting machine. At the same time they need to seize a significant number of the live machines on a random basis.
