It's very possible that they have preferred way to rule on the case and that. preferred course of action that significantly repairs our broken and corrupt elections system as part of their determination.
The Texas case did provide the potential case law to address the underlying electoral problems and corruption enablement that has been destroying a free and fair electoral process for the last several decades.
I disagree with some of their abdication on addressing voting illegalities for the last several years, especially with mail in voting, digital voting machines and allowing illegal and non eligible voters to register to vote.
There are other cases filed that are teed up for far stronger and more meaningful rulings than the Texas case.
The cases documenting the multiple fraudulent voting schemes and how they destroyed the equal protection clause protecting the voting franchise of all legitimate registered voters in the US is the case where the SCOTUS has the ability and the pretext to over rule the existing election and also provide guidance on what constitutes a constitutionally sound frameworks for election integrity in the modern digital age to reform our broken and corrupt system .
These cases are still working their way through the system

The president does not get to unilaterally cancel an election, no matter what evidence he thinks he has and no matter how ferociously he tweets. He has to find a court to accept his claims. If he proposes direct action to reject certifications, he needs majorities in Congress. If he tries to take unilateral action to overturn an election, NO ONE will follow his orders, and he will probably be physically removed from office the very same day under the 25th amendment, with Mike Pence leading the action.

The states already certified their elections. They had to in order to pick their electors. They could not appoint their electors until they first certified who the winner was. The Electors will vote, not certify, tomorrow.
P.S. Why does the president not get to unilaterally cancel an election? Because a president does not get to be the judge in his own case.
