Wife and I are moving to my house at the farm. It is not a small house, but it is 70 years old.
I remarried 7 months ago, we both have 2 houses.
Remodel at the farm started years ago, but I’ve never completed it. This time I will finish it and sell the one in town.
My wife will sell one of her’s too. She may keep the other, not sure.
We intend to simplify our lives.
We have that same problem. Between wife and I we have four houses. The problem is the several hundred miles between them.
My heart is in the farm house which needs quite a bit of remodeling. With the children grown and just two of us, this is a bit ridiculous.

We opted for leaving a blue suburban area for a farm. Loving it. I would keep one house in town if you can afford the taxes. Looking ahead, we will probably buy a small lot in town for a future home where we can walk places. Our little town has had lots of city people buying up real estate so the values have risen so we’re just waiting for the market to cool some!
