Yes, she appears to have been his soulmate. That kind of loss takes time to recover. I agree. I lost my Hubby of 50 years a year ago. Sometimes it's hard to care about anything. Life as you knew it is over after being "the two of us" for so long. I'm thinking Jim is probably just trying to get through the day.
