Elon Musk advises people to ditch Facebook and use Signal (How To Dump Toxic Social Media pt1)

Tech CEO Elon Musk has urged his almost 42 million Twitter followers to use secure messaging app Signal instead of Facebook products. In a series of tweets, Musk shared a meme referencing Facebook’s role in the spread of misinformation leading to the attack on Congress this week and suggested people should use the Signal app.

The tweets seem to have been prompted by a recent change to Facebook’s privacy policy. As reported by The Hacker News, the new updates allow more sharing of data between Facebook and its partner company WhatsApp, including the sharing of phone numbers, interactions on the platform, information about mobile devices used to access the service, and IP addresses. If WhatsApp users do not agree to the data sharing, their accounts are disabled.

Recently he has shown himself to be very wary of Tech Oligarchs, Silicon Valley, and the Progressive left.

He recently announced Telsa moving to TX and has moved there himself in Dec 2020. He also has sounded alarms recently about AI being the biggest long term threat to civilization, he is a free thinker and seems to be moving in the right direction. Time will ultimately tell.

Trustworthy?

Is he a conservative? No. Is he a free-thinker? Yes.

And you don't need to rely on trust to go with his recommendation of Signal. It's open-source, and you (or a code-knowledgeable friend, if needed) can inspect the code and ensure that it does exactly what you want and no more, and build your own executable if you want. That's one reason I like Signal.

Started my cleanse by deactivating Twitter accts, reevaluating ALL my ties and purchasing from ALL Apple, and ALL Amazon companies and have put aside any credit cards tied to any of these companies for non use. I’m not cancelling as I won’t take a hit on a credit score because of these totalitarians.
