There’s a lot more to winning any ‘competition’ than just intellect.
A lot of ‘winning’ is due to deeply inner, unquantifiable stuff that few have ever really studied or understood.
An utterly materialistic nation will never, in the very end, win any competition.

It really does not make that much difference if they are genetically altered superior soldiers.
If two nuclear armed nations totally capable of destroying each other engage in conventional warfare and it is evident one side will lose the conventional warfare the losing side will then use nukes as will the winning side at which time both lose. Oddly this scenario has been played out in think tanks both left and right the two best are The Brooking Institute and Rand Corporation. When given the scenario of East West conflict with conventional weapons and one side losing it always lead to first tactical battlefield nuclear weapons that soon escalated to total nuclear warfare
That is the real reason we have not had massive conventional warfare between East and West and now China. All three are logical and wish not total destruction on themselves as they would also do to us.
Iran is crazy and not logical. Iran is a problem.
Note of history. During the Korean Conflict (It was a war damn it) we had absolute total nuclear superiority. Russia had a few bombs after 1949. We had many in excess. The Korean conflict was insane tactics. It could have been ended quickly and easily. Just drop a small 20 kiloton device on an isolated military target in either China or Russia military installation supporting North Korea whom would not have invaded least Russian and China say do this, and then say, “This Sh-t stops today and our next targets are total devastation of our enemy.” President Truman was a good man but an idiot. He sat the stage for the next 40 year of conflict between East and West.
War should be avoided if at all possible. If one’s nation is at stake it should be done in the extreme with death, destruction, horror, pain, fear with out pity. If one can do this heartlessly, ones enemy will chose not to go to war with you if they are sane.
Oddly, Winston Churchill knew this. He abhorred war as a soldier in war and wounded. He knew the necessity of the horror if one went to war.

The Germans tried this bs from 1933 to 1945 with the SS. It didn’t work out at all. The Russkies tried it too with their “New Soviet Man’’. That didn’t work out either. Both the Nazis and the USSR aren’t around anymore.

That pretty much sums up the CCP attitude as to how they would conduct a war, based on how they think of and treat their own people - not counting the Uyghurs.
The prevailing attitude is: if you do not know a person, then whatever their plight may be, it is no concern of yours. A person dying by the roadside? Shrug and drive on.
Does a person work with their hands? Then that person is beneath all that do not and can be harshly treated for any or no reason. There are exceptions, but that is the general experience.
This general worthlessness of human life seems to be a recent cultural overlay of Mao’s revolution when all things Chinese were hated and destroyed.
