WOW: North Dakota House Passes Bill Making Mask Mandates ILLEGAL, Bill Sponsor Calls Mandates ‘Diabolical Silliness’

The North Dakota House of Representatives has passed a bill that will make any future mask mandates illegal in the state. Monday’s vote passed 50-44 and is now heading to the state senate.

“Our state is not a prison camp,” the bill’s sponsor, Rep. Jeff Hoverson, said.

The state’s Republican Gov. Doug Burgum had put a mask mandate in place three months ago, but had previously expressed doubt about if mandates were really the way to go.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that Hoverson called mask mandates “diabolical silliness,” referring to them as a conspiracy run by “unelected, wealthy bureaucrats who are robbing our freedoms and perpetuating lies.”

Only one representative spoke against the bill, Rep. Jason Dockter, a Republican. He argued that cities, counties, schools and businesses should have “local control” of their affairs.

“Both chambers of the Legislature have required that masks or face shields be worn in areas of the Bismarck Capitol building under the branch’s control, though the rule is lightly enforced and oft ignored by lawmakers. House Speaker Kim Koppelman, R-West Fargo, reminded legislators to wear their masks on the chamber floor Monday, but he noted the rule may be reexamined in the next few weeks,” WDAY reports.

Unmask and be FREE!

I wish the legislators in my state, Ohio, had the courage they do in North Dakota.

We have a Republican Governor and a Republican majority, but they're RINOS!

Thanks. And from the article you posted I thought this quote hit a home run out of the park ...

“Our state is not a prison camp,” the bill’s sponsor, Rep. Jeff Hoverson, said.

I have been saying for months now that states and nations that treat their citizens like adults will get better results. In most cases it seems to be working out that way.

Forget RED States and BLUE States.

The issue is FREE States and FEAR States!

This is a great reason why NOT to wear a mask.

To me,the most shocking revelation of this covid thing is how easy it is to scare a large segment of the American population.

And to scare them into doing truly stupid and UNSANITARY things:

Chew on this:

There is a lot of REAL science indicating that COVID—like cruise ship noroviruses—is spread primarily be fecal to oral transmission.

Let that sink in.

Remember about a year ago when there were a few quickly buried stories about communities in the New England states that were going to start testing sewerage for COVID?

Let that sink in.

Now consider this: In many States (Pennsylvania and Ohio for sure) the mask mandates are explicit that those in restaurants MUST wear a mask INTO THE RESTROOM where of course that cloth will absorb all toilet odors and other zhit.

Let that sink in.

Then the patron MUST wear the zhit laden mask back into the restaurant so that with every exhale the patrons innocently eating pancakes can get a dose of the restroom zhit.

Let that sink in.

Still hungry?

Realistically that also applies to the clothing the person is wearing. The mask is stupid, but I don’t think it’s any more likely to absorb bathroom bacteria than the rest of the clothing.

their rate of infection is no larger than anyone else’s from what i understand? Even in the city areas?so this i s just further evidence that masks do nothing, or very l;ittle

Meanwhile, NH is quietly going about its business with a very weak mask mandate that isn’t being enforced.

And they are working on other free state types of legislation.

We’re just not big enough to attract anyone’s attention.

Kentucky state senator Adrienne Southworth has a bill SB158 which would eliminate mask mandates. I don’t think it’s going anywhere even though we currently have a large republican majority in both houses of the legislature. I do appreciate her efforts however. She’s great. Need more like her.

Good!

The sad thing is that people impose it on themselves, though. We don’t have a state order in Florida, although some cities do (indoors), but it’s really the crazy liberal population, particularly the young, that wears them and “enforces” it by harassing people not wearing them. In fact, they attack DeSantis for not ordering them.

They watch too much television. I think it’s going to take an aggressive public information campaign to end this plague of fear. But certainly, getting rid of mandates is a start.

I’m a little bit skeptical. But I would love to see a proper study on that. Wish I could not imagine happening.

Noem/DeSantis 2024

That sounds like a great ticket!

The only negative I can see is that SD and FL would lose excellent executive leadership. We need solid conservatives for the top ticket but conservative-led states are vital too.

Makes it a hard choice. But then they are the ones who will decide that. :)
