I've been reading Randy Shilts's "And the Band Played On," a fascinating, but extremely stomach-churning book about the AIDS crisis in the late 70s and 80s.

Well, guess who pops up in the book? Dr. Faucstick! - and he was directly responsible for creating panic across the Nation by recklessly announcing that AIDS might well be spread by casual contact.

Faucstick announced that to the national media well after it had been firmly established by the medical research community that this certainly was not the case.

This prick has always been an irresponsible hack of the lowest order. Surpised that, to my knowledge, no one has brought up his hackery during the AIDS crisis.
