Ok, Brave restarted (all cookies and data were wiped).. and, IT WORKS!!!
I have NO idea what happened, but you fixed it. I have had this problem since January..

I had this problem just yesterday when I searched something & clicked on “image” and got nothing.
When this happened, I looked on the very next line (under the line showing “All ... Images .... Videos .... News ... Maps ...Shopping) and you see this:
All, Safe Search & the options for safe search are “strict, moderate, or off”
I switched this to “off” and I had images showing up again. I have always searched with “off” and I don’t know how mine got changed from that, but it was. Check ‘safe search’ & see if this helps you. As soon as I put it on “off”, I had images back.
I’ve been studying the DDG search page and there was a way to access Settings....3 bars in the upper left corner. Under All Settings, I saw something called “Infinite Scroll for Images, Videos, and Shopping” -
“Loads more results in Images, Videos, and Shopping when scrolling.”
It didn’t affect the DDG bar for Images, Videos, etc...when I changed it so not really sure what it does. Maybe it will for yours.
The DuckDuckGo image option works for me.

That is EXACTLY the problem I was having!
I clicked on the link the minnesota_bound posted, and it actually fixed the issue. VERY strange :p
As you can see from the original pic I posted, it is what is described in the copy/paste you posted.
For me, it doesn’t make sense that a click to the DDG URL can fix the problem (but it did)..
I am going to bookmark minnesota_bound’s post in case this happens in the future..

It was really strange that all it took was a click to a Hyperlink to fix it..
(BTW, I did try to mess with the settings, but that didn’t help either)

The image tab is showing for me.
Anything domestic is either controlled by the conspiracy destroying our culture and country, or it can be infiltrated and taken over, since most are not sophisticated enough to even realize what is going on and how organized it is, let alone how to counter it.
The one thing which screws the narrative-crafters is using Yandex, the Russian version of google. It is better funded than these minor domestic/western players, has better functionality, returns more factual, less-leftist results since there are no SJWs working for it, and it forces the corrupters of our society to choose between driving us into the hands of Vladimir Putin and letting based Vlad dictate the narrative they want to control so badly, or just stopping their offensive to SJW-ize our search results.
For anything political, I use Yandex.com.
