The time of day and no-knock warrants is very objectionable and suspicious. These were not armed terrorists or anyone with known history of violence; no one was at risk at that time of morning. These warrants should be rejected by courts! Congress should legislate some good guidelines on when they are appropriate and steps to use them with harsh sanctions for judges and law enforcement that violate.
The agents said they knocked but didn’t get a response so they went for breakfast and came back later. When they knocked again, they still didn’t get a response, and that’s when they broke in the door according to them. I’d like to know more details about this and what SOP is with regard to breaking down doors.

I doubt the American people will ever hear about this.
So if you are out feeding the chickens or cleaning out the backyard and don’t hear them they have a right to break down your door? How stupid are they? If they knocked and went away what makes them think you would be too dumb to dump whatever they were after?
A little checking with neighbors would tell you these are not white supremacists determined to burn down the Capitol.
These guys need to be careful. There are 300,000,000 of us and 400,000,000 guns. They really don’t want to declare war on the American people.
The innocent homeowner has the right to protect himself against invaders, including shooting them through the door if they try to break it down. The homeowners are innocent of any crime. The intruders are guilty, and totally responsible for any and all deaths and injuries even if on their side.
Obviously the intruders will kill the innocent homeowners, and will never be prosecuted (unless the homeowners are black.)

We all have a right to due process. I could understand a polite knock on the door and handing the family a search warrant signed by a judge. If any belongings were broken in the search, the FBI should pay for replacements. We are supposed to have the right to due process. When the Feds violate this, they should be prosecuted and and fined up the wazoo.
Sadly, the FBI seem to be acting more like the Gestapo. Both agents and their management should be held accountable.

That book changed my life. I read it when it came out and it was tough slogging for a young 20 something in college at the time but I knew it was important. It set my politics for the rest of my life. Easily one of the greatest works of the 20th century.
I thought they identified the laptop thief two months ago - the young woman who allegedly wanted to sell or give it to Russia.
