#11. The Mexican equivalent of “Chinatown”?
Patriotfury: “You blinded us with science”. Shame on you. Greta Thuneburg is coming after you. Run for your life!
Many lakes are shallower than one might think. The biggest man-made lake in the US east of the Mississippi, Kentucky Lake, has an average depth of only 9 ft. at normal pool, despite a (normal pool) surface area of 649 sq. km.
I did not find KY Lake’s surface area under flood storage conditions: Kentucky Lake has a flood storage capacity of ~4.944 km3 (almost 5 trillion cubic meters.)
As an aside, I tried to find a figure for how much water is in the Mississippi River system on an average day. I did not find a figure: Somewhere, some hydrologist knows.
I used to think Acapulco Gold was pretty good until I tried some Michoacan, no comparison.
FYI to all: According to the article, Lake Cuitzeo normally has a volume of 800 million cubic meters.
For the sake of comparison: Lake Erie (the smallest of the Great Lakes) has a volume of 480 cubic kilometers, or 480 billion cubic meters. That's SIX HUNDRED TIMES the volume of Lake Cuitzeo (when full).
Regards,
Thanx to all
