Not really, China makes very few chips. They still don’t have the know-how for projects that complicated.
Almost all of them are coming from Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. The problem is that building a new chip fab costs several billion dollars and takes several years. Demand increased faster than expected and there is now a persistent global shortage.
