On Tuesday, The Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg published an essay by Juliette Kayyem, a former Obama Homeland Security official, arguing for unvaccinated people to be placed on the No Fly List.
“Unvaccinated People Belong On The No-Fly List,” the headline read.
"While flying, vaccinated people should no longer carry the burden for unvaccinated people. The White House has rejected a nationwide vaccine mandate—a sweeping suggestion that the Biden administration could not easily enact if it wanted to—but a no-fly list for unvaccinated adults is an obvious step that the federal government should take. It will help limit the risk of transmission at destinations where unvaccinated people travel—and, by setting norms that restrict certain privileges to vaccinated people, will also help raise the stagnant vaccination rates that are keeping both the economy and society from fully recovering."
Kayyem said that stripping people of their rights will help “change minds”

Flying used to be nice. People dressed up. You were served food. Stewardesses were attractive, friendly and helpful. Flights were on time. Now forget it. I travel as far as I can drive.

I retired from a job that required me to fly—and I hated every single minute of flying—felt like a sardine in a can...
I am so glad those days are over—have not gotten on a plane since I retired.
My mother, who died not too long ago at 102 had an interesting view on life and government. We were discussing the sexual predator list. She said, you know, it sounds like a good idea. But let me tell you about government and lists. They’ll hire people to keep the list up to date. And, once you’ve listed all the sexual predators, what do you do with all those government workers? You’ve got to keep them busy and what they do is update lists. So, you first broaden the criteria of who gets on the list. Then, you expand into other areas...lists on lists on lists.
If you Google the sexual predator list for your area, you’ll find the dots on the map are all over the place. If you have the kind of list you can click on and look at what the person did, you’ll find a lot of men on the list who had sex with someone who was 17 when they were 18. Investigate further and you may find that those two have been married for fifteen years. But, he’s still on the list.
We have a terrorist watch list. How better to totally screw a political opponent than to get him on such a list? As far as I’m concerned, if there’s enough evidence to put that person on a list, there’s enough to arrest him and try him. If there isn’t enough to do that, then he shouldn’t be on the list.
Lists are so easily manipulated for politics and once you’re on one, how do you get off it? Because, they’re likely to say, well, we can’t tell you why you’re on the list as that’s a secret.
Sorry. There should be no lists of any kind. Too much possibility for abuse.
