“Best to just pray normally and get on with real life the Lord has given us.”
Amen! If you FEEL confident, it isn’t faith. Faith is what persists when feeling and reason says you are screwed.
And our faith is in GOD, not in getting what we ask for regardless! We ask like foolish children but we have faith in GOD to see us through.
“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” - James 1 Endurance because we often do NOT get what we asked for, but what God wills instead - and it is often a drawn out process, in which we change to accept GOD’S will, not change God to accept OURS!
Thank you, Mr Rogers, I appreciate some of what you say hers, but regarding the “FEEL confident” part, the writer does not say anything about INNER feelings of confidence or whatever. He’s speaking of a tactile sense of God’s power. Nothing un-Biblical about that at all.
I recall an intense prayer with the Lord sitting on a hillside....I said it would be really easy to not believe or trust in you now....Well it wasn’t long before crossed my mind...”Who are you talking to if you don’t believe? ...LOLOL God has such a great sense of humor....and can checkmate us in our most dire hour.
