A nurse speaks out Friday 10/22/2021 first day that police refrained from breaking up public protests in Melbourne, Australia.
The State of Victoria and Melbourne moving into a new phase with a lockdown modified to a "lockout of the unvaccinated" as stated by Premier Daniel Andrews.
Protesters were able on Friday to make themselves visible without police interference. The lockdown was justification for a ban on public protest till then.
Teachers and healthcare workers were on the State Parliament steps and at a nearby park in opposition to coerced vaccination.
Today's protest in the form of picnics in St. Kilda in southeastern Melbourne outside eateries that are now segregated facilities excluding the unvaccinated and operating under capacity limits.
Under current COVID rules 15 people can gather in a group for a picnic so the plan is to have groups of 15 or less in the area.
Police have arrived in St. Kilda and how they react to the protest activity remains to be seen.
The protest set for Noon.
Police in the area and they are speaking to people on the street with no word of arrests as of now.
