I can’t stand Alec Baldwin, but why would they EVER need live ammunition as a part of a movie?

Apparently they were also using the prop gun for target shooting.

It was not a prop…it was a real gun. The media keeps calling it a prop gun which leads the ill-informed to think it was something other that a real gun.
