People value their lives and are unwilling to let others rent significant portions of them cheaply.
One of the youtubes under that category included screenshots of articles written by people utterly amazed that offering better pay and benefits completely erased their labor difficulties.

Employers rent my life. Sometimes, the rent goes up. Pay it, or get "evicted".
Employers rent part of your life. I've worked for some who mistakenly believed they rented all of it. One has to draw the line because the defective mindsets in "management" NEVER will.
