I was a little younger but I'd spend all day chopping bitter weed from the pastures of Barnes Dairy for $1.00 a day.

BTW, when I was young, there were 86 dairies in this county...today there are none.

When Hubs was younger, every farm on the mile had milk cows.

After we’d been married a few years we were the last ones left. We sold out a few years ago due to low prices. We still have the kids’ 4-H show cows but they looked good in the ring because they hardly used their udders. Kinda like liberal brains ;-) Raise a few beef cross calves out of them. Also down to just 5 chickens, just enough for breakfast every day.
