Getting gov't involved in marriage over 100 years ago led to gay marriage. Government has no business in defining what is or not marriage.
The only role the state plays here is if physical harm comes to the children. Psychological harm is not something gov't should decide because one day it will decide teaching individual liberty harms the minds of children.

No, society tolerating open perversion led to this. Marriage as an institution has involved government since governments came to be. Marriage involves property and custody rights. Without the government being involved we would have anarchy and the law of the jungle rather than modern civilization. Just because our society is collapsing it does not follow that traditional norms are to blame.
