CA was emptying their dams of fresh water into the ocean. Anybody know why? I remember the article but not the particulars.

Supposedly to insure the survival of a Environmentally Protected trashfish.

Coincidentally, many family farmers, cheated of water they already contracted and paid for, had to sell, because the property tax was more than they could afford.

After agribusiness corporations bought the land, a miracle happened and the Water Rights were restored.

It was to create more habitat for a sucker fish called a snail darter.
