Actually buying in bulk is probably the best thing to do in an inflationary environment. Have your money in long term commodities like toilet paper, bags of rice or even bananas rather that constantly devaluing items like currency or dollar denominated accounts.
I think that the idea is to keep us feeling helpless and reliant on the government for our daily bread. It is basically a hostage situation, and these people are relying on the Stockholm Syndrome to stay in power.
