They can pound sand. My dogs will eat before I do.
I have been canning my own dog food and freezing as much as I can. Two of mine eat homemade wet food with prescription dry kibble. The other three eat regular good dog food. One of the two has to have homemade bison/brown rice and the other has homemade chicken/brown rice. They have digestive issues. The other three don’t.
Could I ask what breed you have? We have always had a Golden Retriever or two and they all have had similar digestive problems. Corn makes their skin itch resulting in hot spots and bone marrow is immediately puked up. We also buy “good” food and also have some rice/meat nights for them.
We live on 10% of her “income spectrum” and we’re literally doing without everything “unnecessary”, like meat, to afford to try and save my PTSD dog’s life from osteosarcoma.
