This is totally believable. Where’d they get the Lenin statue? Amazon? Did they tow it in?
**

The statue is local and is returned to the exact place where it was for decades, until a couple of years ago it was removed by the Kiev regime.

(Not commenting on the wisdom of doing this, especially that Lenin is very far from an object of worship in Russia... more likely the opposite. It is not clear just who did this... likely the new local authorities.)

DID YOU KNOW??

Putin signed a ban on comparisons between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany last July.

That means someone could be jailed for mentioning the collaboration between Hitler and Josef Stalin. “Stalin perpetrated a man-made famine that can be called a genocide in Ukraine 90 years ago, the ‘Holodomor’ which claimed some 3 million Ukrainian live.,”

Putin is running a “special military operation”, in his own words. He is freeing the people of Ukraine by death.

Likely the Little Big Guy.

Putin was in the news not long ago praising the legacy Lenin had left the country. Lenin was, of course, ruthless but was smart enough to delegate the pain to committees and the wet work to street thugs like Stalin. That model most certainly resonated with the former KGB operative.

They also re-lit the eternal flame and cleaned the WW2 memorial in Kherson...good for them.

I took a photo standing next to a statue of Lenin when I visited Luhansk Oblast in 2006. Some of them never left.

UKraine comes up with stories like this because a lot of people in the US and elsewhere don’t understand the Ol’ Soviet Union had a going out of business sale in 1991.
(Well, actually, it was more like a “going into business sale”.)
Anyway, the Ukesters know there are a great many people will respond with “Eeek!! That darn commie Brezhnev!!!” We gots to do something!!!!!”

Lenin and Stalin are objects of adulation in modern day Russia. People seem to have forgotten the horrors they brought and just think of themselves as being an imperial power.

It’s delusions of past grandeur
