Stalin killed his opposition social great or small. He also had great focus on implemented large-scale on economic, social and cultural reforms.
Stalin initiated collectivized farms: controlled by the state, that transformed the lifestyle and existence of rural farmers.
Stalin’s program created the infamous ‘dekulakisation‘ of the countryside, where kulaks (land-owning farmers) were dubbed class enemies and rounded up to be arrested, deported or executed at the hands of the state.
IMO Putin is just a communist KGB thug: neo ‘Red-Czar’ like his prototype Stalin. Putin utilizes social media sourced agents just like the tactic of USSR used KGB to disrupt opposition.

Much of what you say is true, except Putin is doing the opposite with farms and small businesses. He has brought back the “independent, family farm.” The difference should be in text books: Russia is now the world’s largest EXPORTER of grain; under Brezhnev, it was the world’s largest IMPORTER.
And objective study of Vladimir Putin from any number of new sources shows without a shadow of a doubt he is no friend of the United States even if he is a friend of a former president he’s no friend of the stars and stripes and of freedom or of me.
