Yes. Whether it becomes significant or not, the opposing sides today are divided on more issues than they were in 1860. If any part of the country or a state try to devolve the feds will not allow it. Watching the weak and cowardly behavior of so called conservatives over the open invasion of the US from Mexico I cannot imagine any real armed pushback at the political organization level is ever going to occur. Direct attempts at civilian disarmament will produce a slowly growing resistance movement with no traditional structure and will be strongest in places such as West Virginia and Missouri and Kentucky. I can’t imagine any real armed fighting , let alone mass civil disobedience in urban areas, If the huge R E Lee statue can be pulled down in Richmond with no civilian resistance than these evil bastards can get away with just about anything. The literally terror stricken responses I got from Sons of Confederate Veterans members when I suggested non violent high visibility civil disobedience such as chaining oneself to a part of the statues, conducting a layin to block vehicles and to personally obstruct workers was more than disheartening, I pointed out at the age of most of the SCV what did an arrest matter and how would TV coverage of police man handling praying or singing old men be received by even most older black people, What I got was ‘Oh no, my boy that would not be dignified and it would be BREAKING THE LAW’, As with many here those men were just old windbags with no courage of any conviction, The evil bastards on the left have the courage of their vile convictions. People on the right have, with some notable exceptions, no real courage and are loud mouthed key board warriors. If these people are going to be even slowed down we are going to have to show as much guts as the middle class black people that formed the civil rights crowds did. I mean when a call is given middle class white people , especially us old ones, must show up in hundreds not to wave signs and stand around but block the actions of polisucks and cops and do it in a non violent way that will produce very bad optics of state sponsored violence. Some real courage is required, not just the tut tutting old Fudds I encountered who think eating lunch against cultural genocide is an act of courage. Comments?
