There are fuel additives that you can add when you fill the tank that will protect your engine.

Additives will protect the fuel separation issue but not the damage to internal parts for small engines and other engines not designed to be exposed. Those of us that were dumb enough to try and blend our own two cycle fuels learned this the hard way over the last 20 years. Just one fuel tank can ruin parts requiring a rebuild.
