He was a lone voice with the courage to call out the steal. Walmart is dead to me now.

Walmart will be dead long term, or not even that long term. Physical big-box stores are dead. Like Sears. The future is online orders.

IMHO Walmart has done a bang up job of maintaining market presence after the decline in box stores. Not only are they making most of their stores grocery stores (which maintains walk-in customers). They've also done well with their online orders. Their "free pickup from the store" feature means free shipping of non-shelf items if you're going to go the store in the next few days anyway to pick up groceries. That gives them a combined market share of groceries and online orders.

That's a complete 180 from classic retailers like bankrupt Toys R Us who ignored the push to online shopping and thought they could live forever on the in-person shopping experience and fancy jingles like "I don't wanna grow up".
